Robust Tunnel Greenhouses: Transforming Vegetable Agriculture
WHAT IS TUNNEL GREENHOUSE?
Tunnel greenhouse is mainly used for growing vegetables, fruits and flowers. It is built with steel pipe and steel beams into an arch frame, covered with plastic film or PC board and glass. The main function of the greenhouse is to provide a stable growth environment for crops by regulating environmental factors such as temperature, humidity and light, thereby extending the growth period and improving output and quality.
HOW many types of the tunnel Greenhouse?
1. Single-span tunnel Greenhouse.
It is mainly divided into two types:
● Steel pipe arch sheds are low temperature greenhouse, which is suitable for spring and autumn production. The span usually in 8-14m. The frames are all assembled and welded with hot-dip galvanized steel pipes or rectangular pipes. Manual film rollers and insect nets are installed on both sides of the greenhouse.
●The new high-temperature tunnel greenhouse developed base on the simple steel pipe shed. The span can extend to 20 meters. Usually, 1.5-inch or 2-inch hot-dip galvanized steel pipes or oval pipes are used to process the frame. Two roller shutters are installed on the top of the greenhouse, and the greenhouse is covered with a thermal insulation quilt to improve the insulation effect of the greenhouse in winter.
2. Muti-Span tunnel Greenhouse
It is mainly divided into three types:
● Film muti-span greenhouse, with the realization of automatic control, the environmental control ability of the greenhouse is more stable and reasonable, while the work efficiency is higher, and manual operation is reduced. You only need to press the switch of the distribution cabinet. Mechanized automatic sprinkler irrigation, water and fertilizer integrated machine, automatic seeding machine, and Internet of Things control system can be installed inside, which greatly improves production efficiency and realizes precise irrigation and fertilization to protect the soil from pollution.
● PC greenhouse is using Polycarbonate Board as covering materials, with a light transmittance of up to 80-90%. It has a good thermal insulation properties and not easily damaged by natural factors such as wind and rain. It is lighter than glass and more convenient to install and transport.
● Glass Greenhouse, it is fully covered with glass, has good light transmittance, and has a long service life. It can be used for more than 20 years under normal maintenance. It has stable chemical properties and its light transmittance will not decay over time. Most high-end greenhouses in the Netherlands use Venlo glass greenhouses.
3. Double arch double membrane structure
The double-arched multi-span film greenhouse improves the thermal insulation performance of the film greenhouse. The top double layer uses a high-transmittance film. In winter, continuous cloudy and snowy days require heating. Heating can save more than 90% of coal compared to a single film greenhouse. Low energy consumption brings greater economic benefits.
4. Pointed arch tunnel
The pointed arch tunnel greenhouse can withstand wind speeds of 80 to 100 kilometers per hour, and can usually withstand snow loads of 150 to 200 kilograms per square meter. It can be designed according to local actual conditions.
